Just after celebrating its 3rd anniversary, Prisma Legal is super proud to announce it has earned B Corp ™ certification, becoming one of only four legal firms in Australia to do so.
There are over 3000 B Corp™ globally, from 60 countries and operating in around 150 industries. In Australia and New Zealand there are around 250 B Corps™.
B Corp Certification requires a holistic review of a business’ social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency, and is based on a vision of creating a community of for-profit companies committed to redefining success in business.
Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps are leaders of a global movement of people using business as a ‘force for good’.
Prisma Legal follows a fundamentally different governance philosophy than a traditional profit focused law firm. Fotini Kypraios, Prisma Legal’s Principal Lawyer, described the vigorous certification process, which took over a year to complete and examined the 5 impact areas of Governance, Worker, Community, Environment and Customers. The process, which involved responding to and being audited in respect of over 300 questions, served as “a reinforcement of our commitment to our core principles, which ensures we continuously strive for improvement. It is our privilege to be recognised as serving our clients and community with purpose and meaning.”

Prisma Legal’s B Corp ™ journey has only just begun. Every B Corp is recertified every three years. Every time an organisation is recertified, the criteria becomes more challenging and each B Corp needs to be more ambitious to reach the standard.
